The design of the Welspun Energy head office in Mumbai draws inspiration from traditional village open spaces, fostering non-hierarchical social interactions among staff. Amidst the monotony of efficiency-driven workspaces, research shows that creativity flourishes in environments that promote dialogue. Despite limited external light and ventilation on the southern side, the design prioritizes workflow associations over conventional efficiency. Nodes serve as markers for various programs, with cabins sculpted to incorporate informal meeting spaces and maximize verticality. The ceiling system, resembling inverted modules, serves as a backdrop and lighting feature, aiding navigation. An amphitheater-like space serves as the central village square, fostering interaction between management, staff, and support areas, establishing a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
