Galeecha Pavilion ’09

A temporary pavilion for an exhibitor during the ACE Construction Expo in Mumbai, India was modelled and constructed using parametric software. The sustainability-focused design of this temporary pavilion redefines the standards of trade show exhibits. Crafted with recyclable materials, including 110 corrugated cardboard members arranged in a parametric slotted system, the pavilion combines structural integrity with eco-consciousness. After the trade show, the cardboard components are efficiently recycled, embodying a cradle-to-cradle approach. This innovative design not only minimizes environmental impact but also challenges industry norms, showcasing the potential of sustainable architecture. By prioritizing recyclability without compromising aesthetics or functionality, the pavilion sets a new standard for responsible design and raises awareness about the importance of sustainability in the built environment.
